Obituary of Edna McCue

McCue, Edna ~ Peacefully at St. Catharines Place Retirement Residence surrounded by her family and after a brief bout with cancer on Wednesday October 26, 2011. In her 90th year, Edna May McCue (nee Gatenby), beloved wife of the late Howard McCue. Loving mother of Liz (Ron Belliveau), Linda (Rick Turner), David McCue, Thomas McCue, and Lisa McCue. Loved grandmother of Cynthia, Jodi, Cory, Janet, Jennifer and Lindsay (Greg). Beloved great grandmother of Evan and Natalie. Dear sister of Joe Gatenby (Diana). Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother Tom Gatenby and by three sisters Dorothy Schoffer, Irene Jones and Rose Gatenby. Edna was a long time member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows and Rebekahs, Unitas Rebekah Lodge #266. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 1pm. Interment in the Avondale Cemetery, Stratford at a later date. Memorial donations to either the Hospital for Sick Children’s, Toronto or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
