Our Story

With roots in the St. Catharines community extending back more than a century, we are proud of the legacy of service and compassion that our firm's reputation has been built on. For nearly as long, families have been finding the comfort, care and  professional guidance that they have depended on for generations, right here on Court Street and we value our place and role in the downtown neighbourhood. Funeral service is a community-focused vocation and we are privileged to have earned the trust of this community over those many years and are committed to preserving it every day.

A family business at its beginning, our firm has been entrusted to several owners throughout its history but was proudly restored to local family ownership when Bill and Donna Brown became the owner / managers in 2008. As Managing Director, Bill Brown guided the business with the dignity and professionalism that were the hallmarks of a career spanning more than four decades, while Donna oversaw the detailed administration of a 'details' business.

In 2020, the Brown's decided the time had come for a richly-deserved retirement meaning more time for their children and grandchildren.  Seeking a suitable candidate to carry the business forward while preserving the high standards they had established, they turned to a young St. Catharines native who had entered the profession after completing an observation period with them at Patrick J. Darte years before. Bryce Giroux became President and Managing Director of the firm on September 1, 2020 rounding out his first decade in funeral service by achieving a long-held goal of owning a funeral home in his hometown.

Bryce is dedicated to continuing the traditions of caring and professionalism that come with his new Court Street endeavour and looks forward to many years of building on the distinguished heritage of his local business.
