McCurrie, Marguerite (nee Brinchi)~ After a short illness Marguerite passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side at the McCormick Home in London Ontario on Thursday February 17, 2011. Loving wife of the late Charles Joseph McCurrie (Jan 7, 2000). Cherished mother of Coleen (Fred Myers), Nina (Jim Darrell), Diane (Al Mitchell) and Patrick (Sue). Devoted grandmother of Sean, Erin, Michael, Carolynn, Amy, Kim, Sarah, Nicholas and Justin. Great grandmother of Alexis, Abbie, Braelyn, Kylan and Cole. Predeceased by her Sister-in-law of Doreen McCurrie (Jan 7, 2009). Marguerite was an active volunteer of Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital Auxillary for many years, as well as other charitable organizations in the past. She was a long standing member of Glenridge Lawn Bowling Club and previously an avid curler for many years. Marg enjoyed watching numerous televised sporting activities from curling, tennis and many other events. Marg and Charlie joined the legions of snow birds on their annual trek to their winter home in Arizona where the enjoyed family and the Camaraderie of many friends in the south. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 2 … 4 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Julia Catholic Church, 251 Glenridge Avenue, St. Catharines on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 10 a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Garden Cemetery, Fonthill. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to either the Alzheimer’s Society or the McCormick Home Foundation (an Alzheimer’s outreach program and facility.
