Obituary of Dieter Gutenberg

Gutenberg: Dieter (Dick). Peacefully at the Welland County General Hospital on July 21st ,2010 in his 79th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Agnes (August 14, 2004) and his brother Horst. Dear father of Bennett and his wife Jacqueline Gutenberg of Fonthill, and loving Opa to Meaghan. Dick will be remembered by his Sister Ingrid Uotila of Finland, Sister in Law Ingeborg Gutenberg of Germany, Sister in Law Maria Dewenter of Germany, and many nieces and nephews. Dick came to Canada in 1952. After arriving in Vancouver he worked across Canada in the labour field. His journey led him to Lynn Lake, Manitoba in 1960 where he worked as a miner and met his wife Agnes. In 1966 Agnes and Dick moved to St.Catharines where Dick worked at various locations including Neuman Steel, Magna, and Hayes Dana, where he finally retired in late 1992. Visitation will be at PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 39 Court Street, St.Catharines, (905-685-6584) on Sunday July 25th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Monday July 26th, at 10:00 am at the PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL. Interment to follow. Memorial contributions to the Fonthill Volunteer Fire Association can be made through the PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, if desired.
