Lake, Ronald At his home in St. Catharines on Sunday May 30, 2010. In his 91st year, Ronald George Lake, beloved husband of the late “Billie” Ethel Lake (nee Sullivan), who he missed every day. Loving father of Ford (Nancy) Lake. Loving Grandpa of Megan (Dave DeGaust), Scott and Meredith Lake. Great Grandpa of Jack and Madelaine. Dear brother of Merton (Norah), Larry (Gweneth) and Gwen (Doug Brown). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Jack and a sister Kathleen. Ron graduated from the University of Toronto as a professional engineer and worked for Inco for over thirty years doing exploration work in Canada, the U.S.A and the British Soloman Islands, finishing his career in administration at the Toronto office. Ron served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during WW II as a fighter pilot being awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Ron was a member of the Canadian Fighter Pilots Association and Legion #165 Fort York Branch. Ron enjoyed his membership at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club where he enjoyed many friendships. A reception to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at the St. Catharines Golf and County Club, 70 Westchester Avenue St. Catharines, ON L2R 3P4 on Friday June 4, 2010 from 2 to 4pm. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family (and may be made by calling Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel 905-685-6584) “He was a true gentleman.”
