Obituary of Anna Babiasch

BABIASCH, Anna Passed away with her family by her side at Tabor Manor in St. Catharines on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late Josef Babiasch. Loving mother of Mary and Wesley Mann, Herbert and Gail(1976, 1983) and Anthony (2018). Anna was the third of eight children and is survived by her sister Elsa and sister-in-laws Josephine and Renate. Anna will be fondly missed by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Germany. In 1952 Anna immigrated from Germany with her husband, young son and a second child on the way. She was never afraid of hard work and held several jobs over the years. Anna was devoted to her family and was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and sewing. She will always be remembered for her delicious meals, nothing ever tastes the same as those dishes prepared by a mother’s loving hands. Anna was a long-time parishioner of the Cathedral, a 45 year member of the C.W.L. and sang in the choir for many years. Mom also enjoyed her membership at Club Heidelberg and the many happy times celebrated with family and friends. We greatly appreciate the compassionate care and support received from the dedicated staff of Tabor Manor. Visitation will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Wednesday May 2, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 3:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria, 67 Church St., St. Catharines (905-684-3964) on Thursday May 3, 2018 at 10:30 am.
