Chiavarini, Sheila ~ Passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. In her 72nd year, Sheila B. Chiavarini (nee O’Donovan), the beloved wife of the late Joseph Chiavarini. Loving mother of Joe (Candiss), Jack(Elaine), Mary, Blain (Moni). Dear grandmother of Michael, Justin, Sarah, Lucas, Tom, Tim, Richard and Julia. Dear brother Desmond (Eileen), Leo (Jane). Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister Kathleen and two brothers Jack and Vincent. Sheila’s nursing career spanned over thirty years, graduating in 1959 standing first in her class where she received the Bedside Nursing Award. Sheila volunteered her time serving on committee boards and community organizations such as Crime stoppers, the March of Dimes, the Distress Centre and various church initiatives. Sheila also partnered with her Husband at the Valley Inn Tavern. She completed the Canadian Securities Course in 1971 and was president of her husband’s public mining company prospecting for resources throughout Canada, the United States and Latin America. Sheila sang with Chorus Niagara, St. Julia’s Church Choir and Tune Twisters. Friends may call at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St., St. Catharines (905-685-6584) on Sunday April 26 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held at the funeral home Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Julia’s Roman Catholic Church, 251 Glenridge Ave., St. Catharines on Monday April 27, 2009 at 11am. Rite of Committal in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Julia’s Church Choir would be appreciated by the family. “Ring loudly o’Bells of Heaven”
