Obituary of Yolande Whiten McTighe

WHITEN McTIGHE, Yolande Margeurite - Passed peacefully at her home in St. Catharines, Ontario on the 17th of March, 2021 aged 86 years. Loving wife of her devoted husband Barry, they have lived a happy and contented life in Port Dalhousie for the past 13 years. Born in Cochrane Ontario on April 21, 1934 to parents Joseph A.M. (Henri) and Marie E. Degagnè, Yolande was part of a family of 12 siblings. In her 45 years of marriage to Reginald F. Whiten until his passing in 2001, she had lived previously in both St Catharines , Toronto and Aurora, Ontario. Mom had a long and rewarding career supporting many businesses as a bookkeeper. Lifelong interests were enjoyed as a chorale group singer, classical pianist and sharing many happy times and laughter with family at the home and cottage where her delicious meals were always greatly enjoyed and appreciated. Yolande is survived by husband Barry, children Dianne E., Kimberley J., Reginald C. and Robynn M., grandchildren Carolina, Javier, Enrique, Marisa and Jonathan and Taylor and two great grandchildren Sybal and Julia along with brother Raymond, sisters Pauline and Jeanette of St. Catharines and numerous nieces and nephews. She loved you all very deeply. Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private Funeral Mass will be held at Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, any gifts of donation can be made to two organizations that she was active in and were close to her heart: Rose of Sharon Services to Young Mothers or Madonna House Combermere , in her loving memory.
