Obituary of Roxann Smith

Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday November 20, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Victor Smith, loving mother of John deNottbeck (Janice), Victoria Leprich (David) and Valerie Smith. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Danielle, Lana, Lauren and Richard. Proud great grandmother of Kayla, Connor, Liam and Daniel and great-great grandmother of Khloe. Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Artist, Dancer, Music Lover, Traveler, Goal Setter, Teacher, Confidante, Mentor, Seeker and Friend. Roxann saw the beauty in nature, art, music and people. In her own words, “Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to the beauty around me especially in the wonder of nature … sun sparkling on water, a flower with its intricate and detailed structures, or the many moods of a cloud filled sky.” Roxann leaves behind a legacy of beauty in her incredible paintings. She instilled her passion of art and music in her children and grandchildren. Roxann enjoyed ‘Live Music’ and all genres, Classical, Jazz, Pop, Reggae, Soca and World. Loving to travel she visited many countries, yet was drawn to Islands … from the Greek Islands to the Galapagos, and from Maui to the Virgin Islands. She made lifelong friends and wonderful memories. Born on Centre Island in Toronto, she loved and longed for the ‘island life’. Roxann is on her next journey, dancing across the universe, embracing its immense spectrum of wondrous colour, sound and light. God Speed Roxann. Until we meet again.
