Obituary of Madeline Mary Gurczenski

Gurczenski, Madeline Mary Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at the Niagara Falls General Hospital on Thursday May 2nd, 2019 in her 88th year. Madeline was highly compassionate to everyone, especially children and animals. She loved feeding and listening to the birds. She was a matriarch, an exemplar and moral compass for all. She was known for creating the spirit for every holiday and creating instant bonds with everyone she met. Her contagious laughter and beautiful smile will be missed dearly. Madeline Mary Gurczenski, beloved wife of the late Bernard Joseph Gurczenski, loving mother of Stephan (Charline), Mark (Charmaine), Paul (Therese) and Sheri Ann (d. John). Loving Nana of Christopher (Tricia), Jennifer (Chris Baird), Stephanie (Josh), Nicole (Mike), Jessica, Matthew, Heather (Kyle), Toni, Samantha and Hunter. Great Nana of Leland, Luke, Brianna, Braeden, Braxton, Nash, Faith, Tori, Gavin, Brookelynn, Summer, Walter, Myles, Joseph and Talia. She is fondly remembered by her large extended family and friends. Her family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the care staff at the hospital especially the nurses for their dedicated care and compassion and deep gratitude to the first responders. Visitation will be held at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 at 3:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Star of the Sea Catholic Church , 34 Elgin Street, Port Dalhousie (905-934-1170) by Rev. Fr. Richard Kowalchuk on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at 12 noon. All family and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life at the Armenian Community Centre in the Shiraz Ballroom, 156 Martindale Rd, St. Catharines on Wednesday, May 8th, 2019 at 3pm.
