Obituary of Thomas Johnston Leckey

LECKEY, JOHNSTON THOMAS (John) Passed away peacefully on May 8, 2023, in St. Catharines Ontario, at the age of 82. He is survived by his sons Michael and Stephen, his daughters-in-law Jennifer Leckey and Jennifer Riel, his beloved granddaughters Justine and Shannon, his brother Michael and sister-in-law Christine. He was predeceased in 2020 by his wife Diane, to whom he was married for more than 50 years. John was a quiet, kind-hearted man who loved to read, to tinker and build, to play golf and to travel. He loved all animals, especially his pet dogs over the years. Born in Northern Ireland, he moved to Canada in his early 20s to work for Marconi, eventually settling in Brampton, Ontario. He then spent over 30 years working as a metrologist for Hewlett-Packard Canada. In all, he was most proud of being Pom-Pom to Justine and Shannon. A private funeral will be held in the coming days.
